About Abundant Times

Woman holding Restore Nature Now protest banner

I’m Kate Ford, creator of Abundant Times.

I’ve always believed that the stories we tell matter. Abundant Times grew from a blog, sharing climate action and social justice stories into a business that helps organisations communicate their purpose with authenticity and impact. Because when companies find their voice and share their work honestly, something shifts. They become part of the solution.

My Roots
I’ve spent over 25 years in broadcast media technology PR and more recently, film production publicity, crafting narratives that connect and inspire. For two years, I was part of the Six Inches of Soil film production team, where storytelling met activism. We didn’t just promote a documentary, we marched and amplified voices calling for regenerative farming and soil health.

That experience deepened my commitment to practivism: using my skills and platform to drive real change.

Fighting for Women’s Health
In early 2025, I became publicist for the Lobular Moon Shot Project, campaigning for £20m research funding for lobular breast cancer. We’ve held several actions, including a 22-minute silent vigil outside Downing Street representing the 22 women diagnosed with the disease in the UK daily. After lobbying parliament and meeting with Health Secretary Wes Streeting, the Lobular Moon Shot Project has become the most bipartisan-supported campaign in the UK.

This work is deeply personal. My own experience with lobular breast cancer exposed the reality that women’s health remains chronically underfunded and under-researched, a pattern rooted in centuries of systemic medical discrimination.

The Healthcare Rebellion (2027), my forthcoming book, traces this history from the origins of inequality during the Neolithic Revolution, to witch trials that targeted thousands of women including healers and midwives, through the Victorian era’s use of ‘hysteria’ diagnoses to control women’s bodies, to the 1970s feminist health movement that challenged medical paternalism. It delivers a framework for understanding systemic discrimination and a blueprint for meaningful policy reform in a healthcare system that has historically silenced women.

Because understanding where we’ve come from is essential to moving forward.
