Today, Saturday the 18^th October 2025 I am birthing my book into the world. The concurrent theme of the book is the role patriarchal systems have played in the failure of women’s health in the UK spanning several centuries. It will examine how those systems still influence policy today and how that negatively impacts women’s lives. It will also explore the role women activists have played in the UK since the 1970s in changing policy and giving women a voice.

My own lobular breast cancer journey will weave through the narrative as will the Lobular Moon Shot Project campaign. It will spotlight the tireless work that legendary activist Dr Susan Michaelis did to push the Conservative and Labour governments for research funding for the disease and the work the campaign has continued to do since her death on July 9th 2025. The Lobular Moon Shot Project is the most bipartisan supported campaign in the nation ever.

The book will provide insight into how to drive a politically motivated campaign and a roadmap for those who want to stand up to the system, uniting politicians to challenge health policy and lobbying for vital medical research. It will also help to inform women about lobular breast cancer diagnosis difficulties, treatment gaps and follow-up, providing information that empowers self-advocacy.
